Real Wedding: Rooted in Home.

For Sam and Lorraine’s wedding weekend, every detail was rooted in the feeling that defines their relationship best: home. From the playful banter that first sparked their connection to the deep sense of comfort they’ve built together over the last decade, guests were invited not simply to witness their wedding, but to experience the warmth and joy that exists at the center of their story.

The celebration began with an intimate rehearsal dinner in the courtyard of The Wayne Mansion. Inspired by the historic charm of Savannah, the evening layered rich velvet linens, glowing candlelight, and collected textures that felt romantic yet lived-in. As family and friends gathered around the table sharing stories and laughter, a slideshow quietly played in the background—offering glimpses into the memories, milestones, and everyday moments that shaped Sam and Lorraine’s relationship over the years.

Wedding morning carried that same spirit of intentionality.

Alongside hair and makeup, the bridesmaids created their own bouquet baskets to carry during the ceremony—adding a personal, hands-on touch to the start of the day. Once everyone was ready, Lorraine and Sam shared a private first look tucked within the courtyard before heading to Forsyth Park for portraits beneath the iconic oaks.

Guests were then transported by trolley to Bethesda Academy, where the ceremony unfolded within the Lady Huntingdon Amphitheater. Standing together at the top of the steps, Sam and Lorraine exchanged deeply personal vows that reflected not only the excitement of young love, but the steadiness that comes with choosing each other day after day for ten years. A couple often known for laughter and quick wit grew still and emotional in the moment, grounding the ceremony in sincerity and devotion.

Community remained at the heart of the celebration.

During cocktail hour, guests discovered a wall displaying wedding photos from every married couple in attendance—a thoughtful installation designed to honor the relationships that helped shape and support their own. It became one of the most meaningful conversation points of the evening, inviting guests into a shared sense of nostalgia, connection, and belonging.

Throughout the weekend, subtle nautical details nodded to one of Sam and Lorraine’s favorite ways to spend time together: out on the water. Sailboat-inspired cocktail signage, hand-tying elements during the ceremony, and collected coastal objects woven throughout the bars and lounge spaces added personality without overwhelming the design.

Where it all comes together.

For the reception, guests entered an open-air black frame tent tucked beneath moss-draped oaks, where the natural beauty of the setting guided the overall design approach. Coastal blues, soft whites, and buttery yellows highlighted some of Lorraine’s favorite blooms—hydrangeas, ranunculus, and anemones—while warm wood accents and café lighting created an atmosphere that felt elegant, relaxed, and unmistakably Southern.

Above the dance floor, a dramatic suspended installation of greenery and florals became both a design statement and an experience in itself. With Sam’s background in AV and lighting, the structure transformed throughout the evening—shifting alongside the music with immersive lighting effects that carried the celebration from dinner into a full dance party. Combined with surprise CO2 cannon moments enthusiastically led by Lorraine, the energy of the evening felt spontaneous, playful, and completely reflective of who they are together.

Never about perfection or performance.

As the night unfolded, it became clear that Sam and Lorraine’s wedding was never about perfection or performance—it was about creating a space where people felt welcomed, celebrated, and deeply connected. A weekend where guests could laugh loudly, reminisce freely, dance endlessly, and leave feeling like they had been part of something deeply personal. In the same way Sam and Lorraine have always made a home within each other, their celebration created that same feeling for everyone around them.
